Obi Worldphone MV1 launched at MWC 2016
The Obi Worldphone MV1 comes with a 5-inch HD display, 1.3GHz Snapdragon 212 SoC, Cyanogen OS 12.1.1, 8MP/2MP cameras, and will be available in 1GB and 2GB RAM variants
Obi Worldphone has launched a new smartphone called the MV1 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The phone comes with a 5-inch HD in-cell LCD display with anti-fingerprint oleophobic coating and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz, and Adreno 304 GPU. The MV1 comes with a 2500mAh battery and runs Cyanogen OS 12.1.1. The device is available in two variants, one with 1GB of RAM and the other with 2GB of RAM. Both come with 16GB of storage that can be expanded by up to 64GB via microSD cards. At the back of the phone is an 8MP primary camera, while at the front is a 2MP camera.
The Obi Worldphone MV1 looks pretty similar to the SF1 owing to its polycarbonate body and floating glass display. John Sculley, co-founder of Obi Worldphone, states, “What we’ve done with the Obi Worldphone from the very beginning is show that it’s possible to have a beautifully designed phone that fits into your lifestyle at an accessible price without sacrificing form and technology. You don’t have to give up style in exchange for substance. With the MV1, you can have both.”
The suggested retail price of the 1GB variant of the MV1 is $139 (approx. Rs. 9,500), while the 2GB variant has a suggested retail price of $149 (approx. Rs. 10,200).
