Nubia, ZTE’s sub-brand has announced the launch of M2 Play smartphone in China. Nubia M2 Play is the latest addition to company's M2 series, which includes M2 and M2 Lite. With M2 Play, Nubia is aiming to capture the market for selfie-centric smartphones.
The Nubia M2 Play features a unibody metal design with 2.5D curved glass screen. The smartphone sports a 5.5-inch display with a 720p resolution and the fingerprint reader is placed below the display. Under the hood, it sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 chipset coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. There is also support for expandable storage up to 128GB via a microSD card slot.
On the camera front, it sports a 13MP rear camera with a f/2.2 aperture lens, while at the front is a 5MP front camera with a f/2.4 aperture, 84-degree wide-angle lens. The Nubia M2 Play runs Android 7.0 Nougat with Nubia UI on top. Its backed by a 3000mAh battery and uses a microUSB port for charging. There is no word yet on the availability or pricing of the smartphone.
