Intex Aqua i14, N15 KitKat-based quad-core smartphones launched

Intex launches two new budget smartphones- the Aqua i14 and Aqua N15 with Android 4.4 KitKat.

Intex Technologies has launched two new affordable smartphones – the Aqua i14 and Aqua N15 for Rs. 7,090 and Rs 6,090 respectively. The smartphones feature Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box and have quad-core processors.

The Intex Aqua i14 has a 5-inch FWVGA display with 480 x 854 pixels resolution. It has a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM and runs Android 4.4 KitKat OS. It has an 8 MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2 MP front camera. The smartphone has 4GB of inbuilt storage expandable up to 32GB via microSD card slot.

The Aqua i14 supports Dual SIM (GSM+GSM) with dual standby functionality, 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and Micro-USB connectivity options. It is backed by an 1850mAh battery and comes preloaded with Opera Mini, Saavn, and OLX apps. Priced at Rs 7,090 the Aqua i14 is available in two colours – White and Black.

The Intex Aqua N15 has similar specs as the Aqua i14 and runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box. It has a 4-inch IPS display with 480 x 854 pixels resolution. The smartphone has a quad-core 1.3 GHz processor with 1GB of RAM. It has an 8 MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2 MP front camera for video calling. The Intex Aqua N15 also supports dual-sim (GSM+GSM) with dual-standby, GPRS, 3G, Bluetooth and USB. The Aqua N15 priced at Rs 6,090 is available in Black, White and Blue colours.

Commenting on the launch, Sanjay Kumar Kalirona, Business Head- Mobiles, said, "We at Intex are proud to incorporate Android KitKat OS in our Aqua portfolio which will enable our users to experience a seamless user interface and smooth functioning of apps."

The Aqua i14 and Aqua N15 will compete with other low-cost Android KitKat based devices launched recently like the Moto E, Micromax Canvas Unite 2 and Karbonn Titanium S99.

Intex is also planning to launch ultra low-cost smartphone based on Mozilla Firefox OS. The smartphone called Cloud FX, will be priced under Rs. 2,000 and launched in the first week of August.
