Nothing has finally launched its first affordable device, the Nothig Phone (2a). The London-based company has also followed its signature transparent design with this smartphone. However, the Nothing Phone (2a) has seen a slight change in the design in comparison with the Nothing Phone (1) and Nothing Phone (2). We all know that Nothing has always been creative and unique with its smartphone designs. However, the Realme 12 Pro was also pretty much about its design. Let’s talk about the Nothing Phone (2a) first. As usual, it comes in two colours: Black and White. The back showcases the signature clean Nothing design with a transparent rear. The dual cameras are positioned in the middle and seem like two eyes popping out. The Glyph interface lights are there again that lit up notifications or calls. Speaking of its measurements, the phone weighs 190 grams and is 8.6mm thick. Moreover, the Nothing Phone (2a) features an IP54 rating and is splash, water, and dust resistant.
The Realme 12 Pro Plus is available in three colors: Submarine Blue, Explorer Red, and Navigator Beige. Notably, Realme collaborated with luxury watchmaker Ollivier Savéo for its design, featuring a premium vegan leather back and a distinctive circular camera module resembling a watch analog. With a thickness of 8.5mm, and weighing 195 grams, the Realme 12 Pro has curved edges. It comes with an IP65 rating against dust and water.

Both smartphones seem to have quite similar displays, except Nothing’s display is slightly brighter. They feature a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with up to 120Hz refresh rate and 10-bit colour support. The Realme 12 Pro has 950 nits of peak brightness, whereas, the Nothing Phone (2a) has 1300 nits of peak brightness. Additionally, Nothing’s display is also protected by Gorilla Glass 5.
The Phone (2a) packs the MediaTek Dimesnity 7200 Pro chipset exclusively manufactured for this smartphone. This processor has two performance cores clocked at 2.8GHz and four efficiency cores clocked at 2.0GHz. Furthermore, this smartphone offers up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. What’s more interesting is that it runs on Nothing OS 2.5 UI, which is based on Android 14 and has zero bloatware.
Coming to the Realme 12 Pro, it runs on the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor that has four performance cores clocked at 2.2GHz and four efficiency cores clocked at 1.8GHz. This smartphone comes in two storage variants in India; 8GB 128B and 8GB 256GB and it also runs on Android 14-based Realme UI 5.0
There is a dual camera setup in the Phone (2a), holding a 50-megapixel OIS main camera and a 50-megapixel Ultrawide lens. For selfies, you get a 32-megapixel front camera.
The Realme 12 Pro, on the other hand, is equipped with a triple-camera setup. This includes a 50-megapixel OIS primary camera, a 32-megapixel Telephoto sensor, and an 8-megapixel Ultrawide lens. At the front, there is a 16-megapixel selfie shooter in this smartphone.

Both smartphones are packed with a 5000mAh battery. However, Nothing Phone (2a) only offers 45-watt fast charging, whereas, there’s 67-watt fast charging supporting the Realme 12 Pro.
The Nothing Phone (2a) has been launched in India at a starting price of ₹23,999 for the 8GB 128GB variant, and it goes all the way up to ₹27,999 for the 12GB and 256GB variant. On the other hand, the starting price of the Realme 12 Pro is ₹25,999, but can be bought at ₹23,999 with a ₹2000 bank discount.
