A couple of days back, Samsung announced its Galaxy Unpacked event a couple of days back. The highly-anticipated launch event will take place on January 22, 2025, in San Jose, USA. During the event, as you all must be aware, the South Korean tech giant will unveil its flagship Galaxy S25 series. The lineup will most likely include four smartphones this time unlike the previous three, these will be the – Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, Galaxy S25 Ultra, and a new Galaxy S25 Slim. In addition to this, a couple of more announcements are expected on the launch day. Samsung can also announce One UI 7 based on Android 15, it can even showcase the next-gen Galaxy Ring, and smart glasses similar to that of Meta. However, it is anticipated that in the middle of all of this, it will be the Bixby AI assistant that will steal the spotlight.

During Unpacked 2025, Samsung will reportedly also announce the next-generation Bixby AI assistant with enhanced capabilities. The teaser video released by the company also gives us a hint at the same. The short clip showcases the AI-powered assistant effortlessly responding to queries and adding an event to a calendar.

For those unaware, Bixby is Samsung’s AI assistant, and the new one will be powered by large language models (LLMs) that debuted with the Galaxy W25 series in China last year. With this, it becomes capable of performing functions like simultaneous multi-command processing, natural language comprehension, and contextual understanding of on-screen content.

Unlike its predecessors, the updated Bixby is designed to handle more complex tasks, such as generating presentations and documents based on simple inputs. It can also assist with photo editing, like adding watermarks to images, directly from the gallery. The updated Bixby AI will compete with the likes of Apple’s Siri and Google’s Gemini AI.

During Galaxy Unpacked 2025, Samsung can unveil Bixby AI for a broader range of devices which can include older models like the Galaxy S24 and Z Fold 6/Flip 6, with the stable release of One UI 7.
