Nokia and Vodafone have teamed up to provide an integrated billing solution for the Nokia Music store. Customers of Vodafone using Nokia feature and Asha phones can now renew their subscription to the Nokia Music service via their Vodafone accounts, and download music tracks and albums from the music store.
Vodafone users can now renew their Nokia Music subscription for Rs. 50 with validity of 7 days. For Rs. 99, they get a validity of 30 days, and Rs. 250 for 90 days validity. Customers will be charged for taxes and data usages separately. Moreover, postpaid Vodafone users can pay for the subscription renewal as part of their monthly phone bills. Prepaid users can have amount deducted from their prepaid balance.
Nokia says its music store has become the first independent music store in the country to provide integrated operator billing. “Music with its universal appeal plays a key role in differentiating the Nokia experience. We have a strong proposition in the Nokia Music Store and are delighted with the tremendous consumer response we are witnessing in India. Both Vodafone and Nokia are committed to offering the consumer a richer experience and growing the music ecosystem in India and we are excited to broaden our strong relationship with music as it furthers these objectives,” Viral Oza, Director Marketing, Nokia India says in release.
Nokia had announced a similar arrangement with Reliance Communications (RCom) last year. The Nokia-RCom partnership enabled customers of Reliance to pay for applications on the Nokia Ovi Store by having it billed to their phone.
