Nokia has announced the launch of its Mix Radio service on Asha mobile phones in India. The service allows users to listen to free music as well as create personalized mixes. The service has initially been launched on Nokia Asha 308, 310, 305 and 311.
According to Nokia, users will have access to more than 8 million songs from the Nokia Music Store. Nokia’s Mix Radio will allow users to stream free music from 150 exclusive playlists, created by expert musicologists as well as global artists.
The Mixes have been created from more than 15 million tracks that are already available on the Nokia Music Store. Nokia Asha users will also be able to access and download four mixes offline. Users can downloaded the music by using a 2G, 3G or Wi-Fi connection. The mixes are also customized according to different regions as well as genres on Nokia Asha Smartphones.

Introduction of Mix Radio free streaming service, is another step in democratizing our services at newer price points and enhancing the smartphone experience of our Nokia Asha consumers.”
Nokia has recently launched the Here Maps service on its Asha platform. The service is aimed at budget mobiles like the Nokia Asha 501 which do not support GPS service. Nokia Here Maps allows the user to search for places and addresses in over 200 countries.
