HIGHLIGHTS

Nokia is hosting an event in London on May 14th and we're hearing that a lighter, slimmer flagship might make its way into the announcement.

We have known about the Lumia 928, a dedicated Lumia device for the Verizon network in the US, for quite some time now. The recent early billboard advertising the phone was also a dead giveaway, but there are whispers that the Lumia 928 may have an international version, the Lumia 925, or Catwalk as it has been long rumoured to be called.

The Lumia 925 is said to sport a slimmer, lighter aluminium body, addressing the one big concern people had with the Lumia 920. The insides will be graced by a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor along with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The screen will be a 4.5 inch slab with a 1280×768 resolution. However, the best part of the phone will be the 8.7 megapixel camera with an f/2.0 lens, which in specs sounds exactly like the same PureView camera on the Lumia 920, but we don’t know if it’s the same optics.

The Lumia phones have been slow to pick up sales, but recent reports have shown that Nokia has been slowly raking in profits thanks to the Windows Phone 8 device arsenal. Slimming down the Lumia 920 and making it a lighter device while maintaining the powerful specifications would be a really good move on Nokia’s part in order to boost the sales of its flagship device. Is this what we’re going to witness on the 14th of May in London?
