Nokia Lumia 920 gets price cut; Lumia 925 ‘coming soon’ to India
Fairly busy last few days for Nokia, with the Lumia 920 getting a price correction, and the Lumia 925 showing up on the India website. If anyone tried to tell you there isn't a link between the two, please don’t let them kid you.
Nokia has given the Lumia 920 a price correction in the Indian market. The flagship phone, which was priced at Rs 38199 till now, has been given the new price tag that says you can buy this phone for Rs 32639 now. At least that is what Nokia’s own website is offering the phone for. Simultaneously, the Lumia 925 has also shown up on Nokia’s India website, filed under ‘coming soon’.
Despite the price cut, Nokia is also bundling a free wireless charger with the Lumia 920, an accessory that costs Rs 3999 in the market when sold separately.
The Lumia 925 is priced at € 469 (Rs 33751 approx) in the international markets, but the India price of the phone has not been announced as yet. However, since Nokia is freeing up the Rs 35000 – Rs 40000 price band, expect the Lumia 925 to slot in where the Lumia 920 was placed till now.
The Lumia 920 is known more for its camera, than anything else. The 8.7MP camera with the f2.0 aperture can take low light shots better than most. The phone is powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 processor and is paired with 1GB of RAM. The phone packs in 32GB storage internally.
The Lumia 925 has a similar power package, but the camera is much different in terms of the innards, despite reading the same 8.7MP number. The biggest difference though, at least on the outside, is that the Lumia 925 gets an aluminum body. The 925 weighs 139 grams, while the 920 weighs just over 180 grams.
