Nokia Lumia 920 and 820 Amber Update leaks ahead of launch
The Amber update for the Lumia devices is still a few days, perhaps weeks, away, but if you have a Lumia 920 or a Lumia 820, you could get the update right away. You will have your work cut out for you though.
Have you eagerly been waiting for the Amber Update for your Lumia phone? Well, you may be part of the few lucky ones, in case you own a Lumia 920 or 820, to get the Amber Update, which leaked online ahead of the official launch.
Thanks to the keen observing eyes of the members at WindowsMania.pl, it has been discovered that the Amber update for the Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 is available on the Nokia servers ahead of launch, though the devices will still not show the update if you check for it. They have also made available the official firmware ROM, which can be downloaded and flashed onto your respective device.
The Amber update is Nokia’s value addition to the GDR2.0 update from Microsoft for Windows Phone 8, which will include exclusive features such as the Glance Screen, Smart Camera, FM Radio, Flip for silencing the phone by flipping it as well as the Data Sense app. The HERE branding Location & Commerce app suite has also been updated and includes the Here Maps v3.4, Here Drive v2.2 and Here Transit v3.5 apps.
We strongly recommend staying away from flashing your phone with the ROM and waiting till the official firmware rolls out, well, officially.
