Microsoft has attempted to break the world's record for the 'largest selfie' picture. The image was taken in Bangladesh, using Microsoft's mid-range smartphone the Lumia 730 in partnership with Coca Cola.
The picture was posted on the Microsoft Lumia Bangladesh Facebook page, which states that it used the Lumia 730's front facing camera to take a picture with 1151 people in an endeavor to break the world's record of a selfie with the "most number of people with recognizable faces." The participants had to register at the event to get an accurate head count. Microsoft is still waiting for confirmation from Guinness on this record though.
Earlier this year, talk show host Ellen DeGeneres 'Oscars' selfie made a new record as the most retweeted tweet ever. Previously, the record was held by US President Barack Obama' famous “ four more years” tweet, the night he was re-elected.
Recently, domestic smartphone maker Lava attempted to beat the selfie chain record with its Lava Iris X5 with 1,000 people clicking selfies in a line using the smartphone. Guinness has not confirmed the record as yet either.
