Nokia Lumia 720 and 520 leak ahead of MWC 2013
Thanks to an Indonesian certification check, we now have confirmation on two new Lumia devices from Nokia, scheduled for an MWC reveal.
With Mobile World Congress just round the corner, Nokia is set to announce a bunch of new phones and we already have the confirmation on two of them. The Nokia Lumia 720 and 520 have been confirmed by the way of leaks, thanks to an Indonesian Certification check process. Both devices will be based on Windows Phone 8.
The Nokia Lumia 720, codenamed Zeal, will have 4.3-inch ClearBlack display, 1GHz dual-core processor with 512MB of RAM, 8GB of built-in storage. It is also likely to have 6MP rear camera and 2MP front camera. It will support HSPA and have a microSD slot. The Lumia 520 on the other hand will have a 4-inch Super Sensitive screen, along with a 1GHz dual-core processor, 512MB of RAM, 8GB of built-in storage, microSD slot, 5MP rear camera, with no front camera.
If these specs are indeed true, then we are looking at a pair of rather powerful devices. Given the price bracket that has already been established between the Lumia 920, 820 and 620, we’re expecting that the Lumia 720 and 520 will be on the budget side. The Lumia 520 will especially be something to look forward to as the 5xx series would mark the cheapest Lumia devices on the market and seeing the configuration the 520 is sporting, it looks mighty impressive.
While the phones would be announced at MWC, it is completely up to Nokia when to bring them to the Indian market. We have seen Nokia release phones incredibly late into the Indian market, like they did with the Lumia 900. However, the interesting question to ask would be whether these two devices are the only two new entities from Nokia, or is the Finnish company planning something bigger, like a tablet for an MWC reveal?
