This is something we have known of for some time now, but Nokia has officially announced the Lumia 625 and said that it would be coming to India in Q3.
After enough rumours and leaks, Nokia has finally unveiled the Lumia 625, the company’s large screen Windows Phone 8 device aimed at the masses. Interestingly, it is the only entry-level Lumia to sport an LTE chip, although it is designed to the Britain friendly EE Band 3, 7 and 10.
We had yesterday reported on the specs of the phone which got leaked, but today, we have the final confirmed word on what makes the phone tick. For starters, it does sport the rumoured 4.7 inch screen with curved display with a resolution of 480×800. It comes powered by a dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz and 512 MB of RAM. There is 8 GB of on-board storage which can be expanded with the use of a 64GB microSD card.
The main imaging prowess is provided courtesy a 5 megapixel camera on the back coupled up with an LED flash. If there was anything about this camera that made users feel like it was a flagship, the camera should put such misguided notions to rest. The front camera is the icing on the cake though, supporting only VGA resolution.
The good news, however, is that the phone is priced quite competitively, costing just 220 Euros. The phone will begin rolling out to countries in Asia, including India, along with a few other regions across the globe in Q3 2013. The Lumia 625 will be available in various colours such as orange, yellow, bright green, white and black with an array of changeable shells
