A day prior to the official unveiling, the full specification list of the Nokia Lumia 1020 (yes, that is what it is being called officially, so far) has been revealed and it falls in line with everything we have been hearing so far.
For starters, yes, there is a 41-megapixel backside-illuminated sensor that everyone has been raving about. It is also supplemented with the Lumia 925’s amazing optical image stabilization and 6 element lens that’s supposedly improved imaging performance going from the Lumia 920 to Lumia 925. Nokia has infused the Lumia 1020 with a whole 2GB of RAM, most probably to handle the large data the sensor offloads.
The processor, however, remains a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon, although we’re not sure exactly which model it is. It will also ship with stock 32GB on-board storage, though there are rumours of a 64GB exclusive in tow for various carriers across the globe. Lastly, it also features a 1.2 megapixel front facing camera.
The main feature of the phone is obvious the camera, and thus Nokia has also developed a unique camera-grip type cover for the phone which not only comes with its own built-in batter, but also with a standard tripod mount.
The Nokia Lumia 1020 is going to be announced tomorrow (July 11) at an event in New York City, where we are sure Nokia will reveal the phone, and also dive into specifics. Hopefully, this time they will refrain from false advertising.
