Online retailers have consistently been beating phone manufacturers to the launch of a new phone, often leaking them through an online post much before the company has a chance to announce them. This time, the Nokia Asha 210 has been leaked by online retailer Saholic, complete with price and a tentative release date.
The Nokia Asha 210 has received a price tag of Rs. 3,999 and a tentative release date of May 31. The phone, often called the WhatsApp Phone due to a dedicated key for the messaging app, is a mini-SIM device that comes in five colours: black, white, yellow, cyan and magenta. At the moment, Saholic is listing only the black model for sale.
The phone also comes with a full QWERTY keyboard, a nice change from all the all-touch based phones coming out lately, along with a 2.4-inch screen that doesn’t do much in the resolution department (320×240 pixels). The phone has 2G and Wi-Fi connectivity (no 3G) for improved connectivity and messaging. The camera on the Asha 210 sports a resolution of 2 megapixels and can shoot videos at 10 frames per second, not blockbuster material, but something’s better than nothing.
Last but not the least, there is a 1200mAh battery inside the phone that allows Nokia to claim a talk time of 12 hours with 2G and 40 hours of music playback. A microSD card slot will allow you to expand the storage capacity of the phone to 32GB if needed.
