Nokia announces October 22 event, possibly to launch the Lumia 1520
The Nokia Lumia 1520 or the Bandit has been the talk of the rumour mill, but is it ready to step out and finally become a reality?
Nokia has announced an event for October 22 via their official Twitter account, along with an image that is rather perplexing. The theme around this invite seems to be “innovation reinvented,” and it is quite likely that this could signal the unveiling of the large-screened Nokia 1520 (or whatever it may be called).
The Nokia 1520, codenamed Bandit, has been rumoured for some time now. The device is said to sport a 6-inch screen with 1080p resolution, the first of its kind for a Windows Phone device, both in terms of its form-factor and its full HD display.
What the device could also have is a 20 megapixel PureView camera, which means that optical image stabilization and Zeiss optics will definitely be present, but what is not known for sure is whether it too will have a large half-inch sensor, a lower spec’d variant of the 41 megapixel sensor.

What Nokia will reveal at the end of the day is pretty assured, but what we are looking forward to are the exact specs on this device, along with what sets it apart, besides the form factor. Nokia could go with a quad-core processor too, along with higher amount of RAM. Would they also include a microSD slot on the Bandit? We will find out on in about a month’s time.
