In fact, it seems that the new video was the source of the phone's leaked image that was earlier shared on Twitter.
Before we delve into the details shown in the video, let’s do a quick recap of what we know so far. The Nokia 9 PureView smartphone has been repeatedly reported to feature a penta- rear camera set up. The phone's camera is expected to come equipped with an LED flash and a rumoured optic sensor for quick focusing. It may have an in-display fingerprint sensor and, just like other Nokia-branded devices, it could launch under Google’s Android One Program.
The video reaffirms the above-said information and provides details on the same. Starting with the camera, the smartphone is expected to have five rear cameras with Zeiss optics. As per the video, users will be able to click photos with all the five sensors at the same time and the setup is claimed to capture up to 10 times more light in comparison with a regular phone camera sensor. Additionally, the video shows that with the penta-lens camera could also enable users to adjust depth-of-field after a shot has been taken. This feature might be accessible from within the Google Photos app and the video also shows that one will get unlimited Google Photos storage with the phone.
When it comes to the display, the Nokia 9 PureView is said to sport a 5.99-inch PureDisplay display panel with 2K resolution and HDR10 compliance. It could feature an 18:9 aspect ratio with thin side bezels, thick top and bottom bezels and an in-display fingerprint sensor – a first for a Nokia-branded phone. There seems to be a glass back rear panel on the device and it's also tipped to come with Qi wireless charging support.
Under the hood, the Nokia 9 PureView is expected to launch running on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, coupled with 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. There is no info on whether the onboard memory would be expandable or not. The smartphone is said to run Android Pie 9.0 out-of-the-box and since it is expected to be an Android One device, it will surely receive timely OS and security updates for up to two years.
Previously, reports suggested that HMD Global may launch Nokia 9 PureView at CES or MWC but mysmartprice (via Nokia Anew) claims that the device is expected to be unveiled officially by the end of January 2019. As the Consumer Electronic Show 2019 commences from January 8 and Mobile World Congress kicks off from February 25 this year. In case the device launches after CES and before MWC, it may go on sale in several markets before the 2019 flagship Android smartphones start launching.
