Nokia 8 was first announced at an event in London recently, and it's the only Nokia phone to sport competitive and high end specifications so far.
It seems the Nokia 8 is finally headed to India. HMD Global has sent out invites to the media, announcing an event on September 26. The invite says "there are two sides to every story", which is likely a reference to the Bothie feature HMD has been touting with the Nokia 8. The company had first announced the Nokia 8 at an event in London recently. The Nokia 8 is HMD Global's flagship smartphone, and the only Nokia branded device so far that sports high end specifications.
From the specs point of view, the Nokia 8 has a 5.3 inch Quad-HD display and 4GB of RAM. It runs on the Snapdragon 835 chipset and has 64GB storage, which can be expanded to 256GB via a micro-SD card. HMD is touting the design once again, advertising the fact that the Nokia 8 is made out of a single block of 6000 series aluminium.
While HMD should be better prepared for its flagship smartphones, the company hasn’t made a good impression in terms of supplies just yet. The Nokia 3, 5 and 6 were delayed in India and have reportedly been short in supply as well. Unlike those phones though, the Nokia 8 belongs to the flagship range, which is usually a low volume market in India. That said, the company should be selling them through both online and offline channels, so it will need to gauge the demand early on.
