Nokia 6, the premium mid-range smartphone in HMD Global's lineup, has received 1 million registrations ahead of its scheduled sale on August 23 exclusively on Amazon India. The e-commerce giant had commenced registration for the device on July 14 and it will be available only to registered customers during the August 23 sale. The smartphone seems to have gained traction among Indian consumers despite its premium pricing of Rs 14,999.
As part of the launch offer, Amazon India is offering Rs 1,000 cash back to Prime members purchasing the device using Amazon Pay balance. Nokia 6 customers also get 80 percent off on Kindle eBooks when they sign in to the Kindle app. Other offers include additional 45GB free data for 5 months and Rs 2,500 off on Hotels and Flights on MakeMyTrip.
The Nokia 6 sports a premium design with 6000 series aluminium unibody construction. The handset features a 5.5-inch Full HD laminated display and is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 430 chipset. The smartphone offers 3GB RAM, 32GB storage and supports expandable storage up to 128GB via SD card slot.
The Nokia 6 features a 16MP main camera with f/2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus and dual tone flash. It also sports an 8MP selfie camera with autofocus, f/2.0 aperture and 84-degree wide angle lens. The smartphone supports WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, GPS and 4G LTE. It runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat with August security patch and will be upgraded to Android O when it becomes available for Google. Nokia 6 also features a 3.5mm audio jack and has dual speakers certified by Dolby Atmos. The smartphone is backed by a 3000mAh battery and will be available in matte black, tempered blue and silver colour variants.
