Nokia 5.1 and Nokia 3.1 with 18:9 display aspect ratio, Nokia 2.1 running on Android Oreo (Go Edition) announced

Both the Nokia 5.1 and the Nokia 3.1 run on Android One platform and the new Nokia 2.1 runs on Android Oreo (Go Edition).

Nokia has launched the new Nokia 2.1, Nokia 3.1 and Nokia 5.1 smartphones in an event today in Moscow. The company has refreshed its previous offerings and all the three new devices come feature upgraded specs and design as compared to their predecessors. The Nokia 5.1 and the Nokia 3.1 come with a revamped design, feature a taller 18:9 display aspect ratio and are running on Android One program. The new Nokia 2.1 also gets some bumped up specifications and it now runs on Google’s lightweight Android Oreo (Go Edition). 

Nokia 5.1

The new Nokia 5.1 features some major upgrades over its predecessor and it now comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD+ 18:9 display with a 1080 x 2160p resolution. The smartphone is powered by a 2.0 GHz MediaTek Helio P18 octa-core processor, which is said to deliver 40% faster performance as compared to its predecessor. Its frame is milled from a single block of 6000-series anodized aluminium and the device features a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner to accommodate the taller display. 

The handset comes in a 2GB RAM/16GB storage and a 3GB RAM/32 GB storage variants. The Nokia 5.1 is equipped with a 16MP single rear camera, which supports Phase detection AF and is supplemented with a dual-tone flash. On the front is an 8MP wide-angle camera for selfies. The smartphone will be available globally from July in Copper, Tempered Blue and Black colour variants starting at Euro 189 (Rs 14,800 approx). 

Nokia 3.1

HMD Global said at the event that the Nokia 3 was their most successful smartphone and it seems that they expect the same with the new Nokia 3.1. It features a dual anodised diamond cut design and comes with a 5.2-inch HD+ IPS display. The smartphone is powered by a MediaTek 6750 octa-core SoC where four cores are clocked at 1.5GHz and the rest of the cores are set at lower speeds for saving power. It will come with 2GB RAM and 3GB RAM versions with 16GB and 32GB internal storage options respectively. he smartphone comes with a 13MP rear camera with an f/2.0 aperture lens and LED flash, and on the front is an 8MP wide-angle lens camera. The device is backed by a 2990mAh battery and akin to its predecessor, it misses out on a fingerprint scanner. The device will be available in June starting at Euro 139 (Rs 10,900 approx).

Nokia 2.1

The company claims that the Nokia 2.1 sports a 50 percent performance gain over its predecessor with 20 percent extended screen real estate. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 425 SoC and it features a 5.5-inch HD 16:9 display. There are also two front firing speakers on the top and bottom bezels, which are said to deliver stereo sound effect. The smartphone is equipped with 1GB RAM, coupled with 8GB internal storage and it runs on Android Oreo (Go Edition).  The handset boasts of a two-day battery life, thanks to the 4000mAh battery and features an 8MP rear camera with autofocus, along with a 5MP front-facing sensor. The handset will be globally available from July in Blue/Copper, Blue/Silver and Grey/Silver colour models.
