Nokia 4 and Nokia 7 Plus spotted in Nokia’s Camera app APK
A teardown of Nokia’s Camera app suggests that the company may release the Nokia 4 and Nokia 7 Plus this year
A teardown of Nokia’s Camera app has revealed two new devices that we may get to see from the company in 2018. A report by Nokia Power User shows that the version 8.0210.20 of the app, which was installed on devices running Android Oreo beta showed references to the Nokia 4 and Nokia 7 Plus. It also revealed the names of two other unreleased Nokia phones, namely the Nokia 1 and Nokia 9.
Judging by the names, the Nokia 4 should slot in between the Nokia 3 and 5 in the company’s lineup, while the Nokia 7 Plus will most likely be a new version of the Nokia 7, which was unveiled last year. However, the screenshot also suggests that the files were last created or modified back in 2016, so it’s quite possible that the company changed its plans since then. However, the inclusion of the Nokia 1 and Nokia 9 does lend it some credence.
Reports related to the Nokia 1 emerged a few days ago and suggested that the phone may be powered by Android Oreo (Go Edition). The device is also tipped to launch in the first half of 2018, possibly in March. Information about the device is not yet known, but the device is expected to feature an HD display, an entry level SoC by either MediaTek or Qualcomm, 1 GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage.
As for the Nokia 9, the phone is expected to be the company’s new flagship device with a bezel-less design and a dual-rear camera. The phone features a dual-curved 5.5-inch AMOLED QHD display. The phone will most likely be powered by a Snapdragon 835 SoC and offer 6GB of RAM. The device may offer options for 64GB or 128GB of storage. Nokia 9 may be unveiled sometime this month.
