Nokia 3 starts receiving December Android Security patch
The new December Android Security update brings improved system stability with UI enhancements and fixes some vulnerabilities in the Android system.
HMD Global has started rolling out the December Android Security patch for its Nokia 3 smartphones. The patch brings improved system stability with UI enhancements and fixes some vulnerabilities in the Android system. The patch is 345.4 MB in size and is being rolled out globally as an Over The Air update. It is based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat instead as the device will directly be updated to Android Oreo soon.
The Nokia 3 is an entry-level smartphone from HMD Global which received the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update back in September. The Oreo update rollout for the Nokia 8, HMD’s flagship smartphone, began recently. The Nokia 6 and Nokia 5 smartphones are also expected to start receiving Android Oreo in coming weeks.
The Nokia 3 was launched at a price of Rs 9,499 and it sports a polycarbonate back and aluminium side frame. It sports a 5-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass for protection. The smartphone is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6737 SoC coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB onboard storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card.
The Nokia 3 features an 8MP sensor for both its front and rear camera setup. The device is powered by a 2630 mAh battery and uses micro USB port for charging. It skips on a fingerprint sensor. The Nokia 3 is a dual-SIM smartphone which features GPS, Bluetooth, USB OTG, FM, Wi-Fi. Sensors on the phone include a proximity sensor, accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and a gyroscope.
