Nokia 3 leak indicates 5.2-inch display and Snapdragon 425 processor
Nokia 3 will be an entry-level Android smartphone in HMD Global's lineup. In all likelihood, the Nokia 3 will be priced under Rs. 10,000 in India. It will take on the likes of Redmi Note 4 and Lenovo's K series
Nokia is finally making a comeback to the smartphone space. It has already announced its first handset, the Nokia 6 in collaboration with HMD Global. The company is now set to expand its offerings at this month's Mobile World Congress.
HMD Global is likely to announce four smartphones at MWC on February 26. A report says Nokia will showcase Nokia 3, Nokia 5, Nokia 3310 and a global variant of Nokia 6. Nokia 3 will be an entry-level Android smartphone in the lineup. While the specifications of Nokia 5 was tipped recently, we now have details on Nokia 3.
As reported by Nokiapoweruser, Nokia 3 will feature the same 5.2-inch 720p display like Nokia 5. The handset will reportedly come with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. The camera is also likely to be identical with 13MP main camera and a 5MP selfie shooter. But the smartphone will see a significant downgrade in its processor. Nokia 3 might feature the Snapdragon 425 chipset, which is a quad-core CPU with the older Adreno 308 GPU. The handset is likely to be priced at €149 in the European markets. If the leaked configuration is accurate, Nokia 3 will face a lot of heat from upcoming affrodable smartphones from the likes of Lenovo and Xiaomi. The Nokia 3 with a paltry 2GB RAM and older Snapdragon 425 is unlikely to excite the budget buyer (sub Rs, 10,000). The only possible ace that Nokia might be able to hold is on the build quality, design and finish front. Nokia is known for it's build quality and design prowess.
HMD Global is reportedly setting a difference of €50 between all its models. Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 will retail for €199 and €249. It will be interesting to see how Nokia differentiates its products on design and performance front.
