Nokia 3, HMD Global's cheapest Android smartphone with Nokia-branding, is now listed online. The smartphone has been listed by retailer Croma for Rs 9,499. The listing shows that the handset is priced at Rs 10,299 and retailing at a discounted price of Rs 9,499.
At India launch, HMD Global had confirmed that Nokia 3 and Nokia 5 will be available via offline retail channels, while the Nokia 6 will be an online exclusive from Amazon India. Interestingly, the Nokia 3 listing on Croma shows out of stock, but can be picked up from select retail stores. This could be a way to attract retailers to stores and sell the Nokia 3 to more consumers.
In terms of specifications, the Nokia 3 sports a 5-inch laminated display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The handset is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MTK6737 chipset, coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. The smartphone also supports expandable storage up to 128GB via a microSD card slot. The Nokia 3 features a polycarbonate body compared to the metal unibody design on the company's other smartphones.
The Nokia 3 offers 8MP front and rear cameras, and runs on Android 7.0 Nougat with guraranteed upgrade to Android O this year. The smartphone is backed by a 2650mAh battery and uses a microUSB port for charging. It comes equipped with connectivity options like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and 4G LTE support. HMD Global claims that the Nokia 3 is available from 400 exclusive distributors covering 80,000 stores. The smartphone can be purchased in black, silver, blue and white colour options.
