OnePlus has dismissed speculations around the OnePlus One getting a price hike in India. Today, Vikas Agarwal, General Manager, OnePlus India stated that the OnePlus One won't be getting a price hike here in India. Speculation regarding a price hike was mounting up due to the fact that European prices of the smartphone were recently increased.
Despite the rise in customs duty on imported phones OnePlus will be selling the One phone at the same prices in India, Rs 21,999 for the 64GB model and Rs 18,999 for the 16GB model. Commenting on this development, Vikas Agarwal said “In line with our #NeverSettle philosophy and long term commitment to the Indian market, we assure our users that we are constantly evaluating what works best for them; part of that is to continue to make the One available at an attractive price point.”
Recently OnePlus released its own Oxygen OS ROM for the OnePlus One. The new ROM is available for download and can only be used via rooting and flashing your phone. It will serve as the base for future ROMs and will be the default ROM installed on future OnePlus devices. OnePlus is gearing up for the OnePlus Two which could be available later this year in Q3.
