Currently, the Honor Magic V3 is the slimmest book-type foldable smartphone in the market. Sadly, it is not available in the Indian market but globally it holds the ‘world’s thinnest foldable’ tag. In India, we have the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro and the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, which are the thinnest foldables in the Indian market. The Vivo X Fold 3 Pro measures 11.2mm thick and the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is 10.5mm thick. However, OnePlus seems to be aiming at launching an even thinner foldable smartphone. The next OnePlus Open might not only beat the X Fold 3 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro Fold in thinness, but it might also be thinner than the Honor Magic V3.

A famous tipster, DigitalChatStation leaked the measurements of the upcoming OnePlus Open on the Chinese platform Weibo. According to him, the next OnePlus Open will come with a thickness under 10mm. He hinted that it could measure “9.x mm”, which can be any number between 9.1mm to 9.9mm. Speculations are that it might be even thinner than the Magic V3, which measures 9.2mm in thickness.

Now, about its specifications, we don’t know much. However, the successor of the OnePlus Open is expected to arrive in early 2025, basically not anytime soon. Moreover, it is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor. Along with that, it can feature better and improved IP rating and cameras.

Rumours on the internet are that OnePlus is working on a 6000mAh battery for its flagship smartphones. There are already speculations that the OnePlus 13 will be packed with one. The next OnePlus Open might also include that same 6000mAh battery, but the question is how is it gonna pack this big battery in this thin body? Well, let’s leave this question for early 2025 and you stay tuned for more updates on the same.
