Nothing was recently in the news for its controversial collaboration with the Sunbird App for Nothing chats. But keeping that aside, Nothing offers some of the coolest and most aesthetic gadgets. It has been a while since Nothing has released a new smartphone, the Nothing Phone 2 was released back in July. However, we’re hearing that something is under work. The Carl Pei-led tech company could be reportedly working on a new smartphone.
There hasn’t been any sort of official confirmation from the brand yet, but we hear that it is indeed working on a new handset. How do we know that? Yes, through the rumours and leaks surfacing online.

Taking to X (formey2 Twitter), tipster Sanju Choudhary informed that Nothing is working on a new smartphone. He further shared that this smartphone will not be the Nothing Phone 3, rather the company is working on the Nothing Phone 2a. It goes by the model number: AIN142. Not only this, the tipster even shared design renders of the smartphone.
The leaked images reflect the rear side of the smartphone, the most creative side of the smartphone. From that, we can see that the smartphone carries dual cameras on the camera module. Just like all the Nothing smartphones, this one also has the staple Glyph Interface, and a transparent rear cover.

Coming to its specifications, the tipster revealed that the Nothing Phone 2a could pack a 6.7-inch AMOLED display having a punch-hole for the selfie shooter. Well, that’s all that we know so far. For more details, we will have to wait until Nothing itself shares some details. If I were you, I would take the news of the smartphone itself with a pinch of salt as there is no official confirmation yet.
