Google may soon release an upgraded variant of the Nexus 6P. A listing on Geekbench shows a device listed as the Nexus 6P, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with 4GB of RAM. The device is also listed as running on Android N, the upcoming variant of Google’s mobile OS. The device scored 2115 in the single-core test, and 4903 in the multi-core test. Interestingly, the Motherboard section in the listing mentions ‘Marlin’, which Android Police believes to be the codename for one of the upcoming Nexus devices, with the other being Sailfish. Evan Blass tweeted recently, stating that the upcoming Nexus devices are internally dubbed M1 and S1.

With Google I/O coming up next month, it could be possible that the company is planning to unveil Android N and the upgraded variant of the Google Nexus 6P during the event. The developer preview of Android N was released last month, and is available to download on a select number of devices. There are also reports which state that Google may have partnered with HTC to make Nexus devices till 2018.

The Google Nexus 6P is built by Huawei, and was unveiled alongside the LG-made Nexus 5X in September 2015. The device has a metal unibody design and a 5.7-inch QHD display. The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 810 SoC with 3GB of RAM. It has a 12.3MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. The phone sports a 3450mAh battery and a fingerprint sensor is located at the back of the device.
