New leak details LG Nexus 5 (2015) specifications
According to a post on Weibo, the new LG Nexus 5 will be powered by a Snapdragon 808 Soc and will have 3GB of RAM along with a 13MP camera.
With the Nexus 5 (2015) expected to be released soon, the rumor mills are going into overdrive. Yesterday, an image surfaced on Chinese social media site, Weibo that allegedly details the specifications of the, as yet unannounced, Nexus 5 (2015) to be made by LG. We have had enough leaked images of the device, but this is the first time details of its hardware specifications have emerged. A lot of what is being suggested by the leak corroborates with the earliest rumors about the device.
According to the post, the phone will be powered by the hexa-core Snapdragon 808 SoC and 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM. It will feature a 5.2-inch QHD (2K) display that translates to a 565ppi pixel density. The device will also have a 13MP camera powered by Sony’s IMX278 image sensor, along with optical image stabilization, and LG’s laser auto-focus technology.
The post also mentions the presence of a fingerprint scanner which has been speculated earlier. It has already been reported earlier that LG’s version of the Nexus 5 will sport a 5-megapixel front camera that's based on a selfie leaked by a Google employee. According to the coordinate data, the photo appeared to have been taken at Googleplex in Mountain View. LG’s device is going to be the smaller of the two variants of the Nexus 5, with Huawei working on the other. Google generally launches its smartphones in October and is unlikely to buck that trend this year. Both the devices are expected to be launched with the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Earlier this week, details about Huawei’s larger version of the Nexus 5 emerged on Weibo, suggesting a Snapdragon 810 SoC, 3GB LPDDR4 RAM and 64GB of internal storage along with a USB Type-C port. Both the devices are going to feature fingerprint scanners. The bootloader image showed the device name as “Angler-V4”. The user also posted a few other images of the device that showed the larger form factor of the Huawei Nexus.
