While Amazon has been making some major improvements on its Kindle hardware, apart from actively trying to sell it with price drops and the like, it has also been concentrating on developing its iPhone/iPad application, and has improved it with leaps and bounds. Available now on the App Store, the Kindle 2.2 app offers many features similar to Apple’s reader app – iBooks, and apparently goes one step further. It provides a complete Oxford American Dictionary, as well as Wikipedia and Google support, allowing readers to easily find and reference information.
The Kindle app also allows users to search inside a book, apart from being optimized for the iPad’s screen, and app switching.
