Over the last few months, several leaks have brought to the fore the possible upgrades that the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 may bring. The latest post by leakster Ice Universe shows that the company will introduce trimmed bezels in the phone that will reportedly launch on August 9. Ice Universe was able to get hold of a Galaxy Note 9 front panel and it shows the phone will not have the notch and have a larger screen-to-body ratio than its predecessor Galaxy Note 8. This means that the phone will have a large display in a smaller chassis.
As per the image shared on Twitter, the front panel shows that the bezel on the top of the device has been trimmed to the level that the sensors and camera could just squeeze into it. The bezel at the bottom has also shrunk and its thickness is similar to the one on the top. While several other brands have adopted the notch design made famous by the iPhone X, Samsung seems to be sticking to a notchless screen.
According to benchmarking website Geekbench, the Galaxy Note 9 bears the model number SM-N960N and features an Exynos 9810 SoC (Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 for the variant in the US). To complement it, there’s 6GB of RAM on board. It is expected to ship running Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box.
Further, Samsung’s new Galaxy Note 9 is believed to feature a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED screen with an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. The phone is expected to be backed by a 4,000mAh battery, which is a significant increase when compared to the 3,300mAh that came with the Galaxy Note 8 from last year.
