The very concept of ‘Smartphones‘ was to have mobile devices that do stuff, at least some of the stuff, that the PC did before them. Following the lines, Nokia’s latest N-Series phone, the N8 has learned a new trick right out of ‘big brother’s’ big book by providing support for USB on-the-go. You can connect any USB-device to N8 and it will display it neatly, as a separate device in file explorer, playing host to it just like a PC would. You can then explore the drive and run/copy files from the same. So, all you need is a USB adapter to microUSB converter and you can use the data on your good old USB drive. The adventures of N8 don’t end just here. You can even plug in another phone running in ‘mass storage’ mode. Now that would really make it the big daddy of smartphones, or would it? The release of N8, about 2-3 months away, should answer the question. Check out the video below, showing this neat feature.
