HMD, a popular Finnish smartphone maker has introduced a slew of new devices at the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2025). The new announcements include HMD Fusion X1, a smartphone designed for teens with parental controls, the HMD Barça 3210 and Barça Fusion in partnership with FC Barcelona new feature phones, and the Amped Buds, the world’s first earbuds with a wireless charging case that powers smartphones. Here’s everything that you should know about the announcements. 

HMD Fusion X1

Starting with the HMD Fusion X1, the company’s first smartphone made for teens in partnership with Xplora. It offers parental control features along with no social media access by default and location tracking with safety zones. The parents will be able to customise the children’s user experience via a subscription-based service starting at €4.99 per month. The Fusion X1 also integrates on-device AI-powered protection through a partnership with SafeToNet, automatically blocking harmful content before it reaches users.

In terms of specifications, the device comes with a 6.56-inch HD display with a 90Hz refresh rate. It draws its power from the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset with up to 8GB RAM. It houses a 5,000 mAh battery with 33W charging. As for the camera, the device offers a 108MP primary shooter and, a 2MP secondary shooter. For selfies, the device gets a 50MP front-facing camera. 

HMD FC Barcelona Phones

HMD has also announced two special edition phones in collaboration with FC Barcelona. The HMD Barca 3210 comes with hidden messages from players, custom Barça wallpapers, and a nostalgic game of Snake on the pitch. It gets 4G connectivity, a single camera setup, and is offered with a long battery life. 

On the other hand, the HMD Barca Fusion comes with signatures of 11 Barcelona players, featuring detox mode to limit screen time, and a wake-up call feature where players like Lewandowski and Gavi can start your day. However, it seems to be themed as a themed version of Fusion X1. 

Amped Buds

The company has also introduced the Amped Buds, the world’s first wireless earbuds with a 1600mAh charging case that doubles as a power source for wireless charging-compatible smartphones. The earbuds feature Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC), and customizable EQ settings via an app.

The company also announced the HMD 130 and 150 Music with FM radio, Bluetooth 5.0, long battery life (up to a month on standby), and retro styling. Additionally, the HMD 2660 Flip comes with a mirror-finish design, a large 2.8-inch display, and physical buttons for easy navigation.
