Gionee has unveiled a slim phone Elife S7 which features octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM and 13MP rear camera.

Gionee has announced a new smartphone at the MWC 2015. Called the Elife S7, the new Gionee smartphone is 5.5mm slim and supports dual-SIM. The smartphone will be launched in India in April this year. The Elife S7 is expected to be available in India for around Rs. 30,000.

The Gionee Elife S7 has a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED full HD display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It runs Amigo OS 3.0 based on Android 5.0 Lollipop with OTA and is powered by 1.7GHz octa-core processor along with 2GB of RAM. It comes with 16GB internal storage.

The smartphone sports 13MP rear camera with LED flash and 8.0MP front-facing camera. Connectivity options include dual-SIM and LTE. It is powered by a 2700 mAh battery.

"We believe ELIFE S7 will bring the future of slim smartphones to the next level. To make ever-slimmer phones, compromising on performance and function is pointless. Manufacturers should offer more features benefiting user experience other than just slimness," says William Lu, President of Gionee

Arvind.R.Vohra, Country CEO & MD – Gionee Smartphones India adds, "We have had a rapid growth since our launch 2 years ago. We are at a threshold of achieving the targets we set for ourselves having sold over 4Million+ devices in India already.Gioneeis aiming to be among the top 5 mobile players in India by the end of next fiscal year. ELIFE S5.5 & S5.1 witnessed huge acceptance amongst Indian consumers and we are certain that the S7 will create its own benchmark. Consumers will continue to witness exciting offerings this year under the E & S series which are LTE ready matching up to the next level of 4G connectivity option that the country will witness this year.

Gionee has been long rumoured to reveal a super slim phone at the MWC. However, the company had already confirmed the new phone would be more than just about slimness.

"The race to make the slimmest smartphone was getting out of hand. Going so slim is actually not benefiting user experience without the performance to back it up,” the company had said.

Even at 5.5mm, Gionee's new phone is among slim phones in the world. Gionee's S5.1 has already held record for the world's slimmest phone. However, companies such as Vivo and Oppo have also launched super slim phones.
