Multitasking maybe possible on the iPhone 3G as well
Apple’s latest announcements about the iPhone OS 4 left quite a few iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G users bitterly disappointed that they won’t be receiving one of the most important updates on their devices – multitasking.
However, if these users really, really want the feature enabled on their iPhone, there is a possible method (not one we subscribe to, or recommend) showing that it can be done, involving a bit of code-manipulation, and unfortunately, maybe even some jail-breaking.
While the actual procedure has not been revealed, it is now known that the option to enable multitasking is just a ‘true/false’ toggle in one of the two main system files. This apparent loophole was found by an iPhone developer when exploring the iPhone OS 4 SDK, and tweeted out (pictured below).
