Motorola VP confirms Android L update for Moto X
Punit Soni, Motorola's VP of Product Management, has confirmed that the Motorola Moto X will be getting the latest Android L release.
Motorola has confirmed its Moto X smartphone will receive the next major Android release, the Android L.
The confirmation comes from Motorola vice president of product management Punit Soni who responded to a Google+ query on the smartphone receiving the L update. “Moto X is still going to get Android L (5.0) right?," asked a user, to which Punit Soni simply responded: "Yup”
However, Soni's response does not make it clear when will be the update rolled out. But, looking at the trend Motorola is among first ones to roll out the latest Android updates, so we can expect the update pretty soon. Read: Android L overview and what it brings to Android
The latest confirmation comes weeks after Motorola's customer care confirmed the L updates for the X and the popular budget smartphone Moto G.
The information was first published by Android Origin, which got screenshots of conversations with the company’s customer care. The customer care representative though mentioned that information about the Moto E wasn’t available at the moment. “For the Moto E, we do not have any information as of today,” had said the executive.
