Motorola unleashes five new WX-series mobile phones between Rs. 1,490 and Rs. 2,890
Motorola has reportedly launched five new entry level cellphones in India under the name of MOTOYUVA sub brand.The new phones are priced between Rs. 1,490 and Rs. 2,890. They are apparently targeted on budget conscious consumers looking for entry-level mobile phones with basic functionality and reliable performance.
The new entry-level models launched include the WX181, WX260, WX265, WX290 and the WX295. Apparently, all these models ship with identical features with some minor differences. As per the hardware configuration, the W181 is the most basic model among the new release models. Its key configuration includes: a 1.5-inch colour display with a maximum resolution of 128×128, an FM radio and a mini USB port. However, the downside is that, it lacks a memory card slot and thus limits the memory upgrade capabilities.
Now, lets take a look at WX260 in the WX series release. It reportedly ships with the following key configuration: a 1.8-inch display running at 128×160 native resolution, a MicroSD memory card slot upgradeable up to 2GB, an FM radio, a 750mAh Lithium battery which is rated at 420-620 hours of standby time and support for GPRS class 10 connectivity. It purportedly weighs just 83grams emphasizing its portability feature.
Next in the series line is WX265. It is said to be a clam-shell cellphone with features identical to that on the WX290. It reportedly supports a MicroSD slot, with up to 2GB upgrade capability and Bluetooth connectivity.
Next in the slightly higher price bracket, we have the MOTOYUVA WX290 and the WX295. These two mobiles are reportedly very identical in terms of features but differ in their form factor. The WX290 is said to be a candy-bar mobile, while the W295 represents the clam-shell form factor. Both the models apparently incorporate a 65k colour TFT 1.8-inch display running at a maximum of 128×160 resolution. They are also said to support: a MicroSD slot which is upgradeable up to 2GB.However, only the WX290 is reported to feature a VGA camera on it.
All these models are said to retail at a very low price starting from Rs. 1,490 and the most expensive model selling at Rs. 2,890 in the Indian market.
