Motorola has reportedly started Android 5.0 soak test for its Moto E devices. According to reports, the soak test is expected to run for approximately two weeks and if it is successful, Motorola will roll out the updated Android 5.0.2 version to Moto E users in a few weeks.
The latest set of information comes via Motorola India Fans Facebook page. The page says: “Motorola sending out Lollipop 5.0.2 soak test invites for Moto E in India. #SRA”.
Interestingly, the Facebook page had explained why Motorola phones didn't receive the much-awaited Lollipop update: “Do you know why Lollipop was Delayed for Motorola phones? Android 5.0 caused App lag, premature battery drain, WiFi issue, Calls issue, Bluetooth issue on Non nexus test devices. So, Google released a patch 5.0.1. It had several more bugs. Finally, 5.0.2 patch came out in Dec. which was stable.”
It's notable Motorola has already rolled out Lollipop update to Moto G and Moto X – both first gen and second gen devices.
Speaking of Lollipop update, Google has also announced rolling out the Android 5.0 update for its Android Ones phones in India. Also read: Android Lollipop update: Confirmed device list so far
