The season of foldable smartphones is here and Motorola has taken the first mover’s advantage. The Motorola Razr 50 Ultra is here just a few days ahead of the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked. Last year, Motorola gave good competition to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 with its Razr 40 Ultra. This year, we expect even more from both brands. However, it seems like Motorola has done its part by offering some major upgrades with the Razr 50 Ultra.
Let’s talk about the design first. The Motorola Razr 50 Ultra comes in three colours; Peach Fuzz, Spring Green, and Midnight Blue. It also features an IPX8 rating against water and has Gorilla Glass Victus on the outer display. Speaking of the outer display, there are two small camera rings on the display just like we saw in the Razr 40 Ultra. Coming to its measurements, it weighs 189 grams and is 7.09mm thin when unfolded.
The Motorola Razr 50 Ultra comes with a 6.9-inch foldable LTPO AMOLED display that supports 165Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, 10-bit colour, and has 3000 nits of peak brightness. When folded, it now has a 4-inch LTPO AMOLED display that also supports 165Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, 10-bit colour, and has 2400 nits of peak brightness.
For performance, this smartphone is equipped with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor, which is paired with up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. You will get stock Android 14 OS with this smartphone. Moreover, it is packed with a 4000mAh battery with up to 45-watt fast charging support, 15-watt wireless charging, and 5-watt reverse wired charging.
For photography, it has a dual camera setup on the back, holding a 50-megapixel primary camera with OIS and a 50-megapixel telephoto sensor with 2x optical zoom. For selfies and video calls, you will get a 32-megapixel shooter.
