Barring some unconfirmed list of specs and image leaks, the information regarding Motorola’s rumoured second Android One device “Motorola One Power” is scarce. A new report has now claimed that the Chinese authorities have certified the device. According to a GSMArena, Motorola One Power was listed on the 3C Certification website with XT1942-1 as its model number. However, the report says that the listed device could be also another Motorola branded phone.
If the listed phone on the the 3C Certification website is truly the Motorola One Power, it means that the device is cleared to be sold in China. The 3C Certificate, or “CCC” (also called China CCC Certification) is a mandatory product certification system with the aim of protecting consumer’s through the supervision of products. Only after complete certification can products be imported into China and sold in the Chinese market.
Last month, an image of the alleged Moto One Power surfaced, with the device bearing a notch similar to the iPhone X. Rumoured to be an Android One device, the phone is expected to run a ‘pure’ version of Android and receive faster Android updates. It may have a dual-camera setup at the back and the signature Motorola batwing logo sitting inside a dimple, that could well double up as a fingerprint sensor. The image also revealed that the branding on the front side of the phone is now ‘Motorola’ and not ‘Moto’ as it was on previous models from the recent past.
