Motorola may launch Moto G4 in India on May 17
Motorola has sent invites for an event on May 17, at which the company may launch the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus smartphones.
Motorola has sent out press invites for an event on May 17. While the invite doesn’t mention what the company may unveil during the event, the Moto G4 and G4 Plus smartphones are expected to be launched. This would match up to initial reports of Motorola planning to launch the two devices in May.
Both the devices have been tipped to come with 5.5-inch displays, along with 16GB of storage. The Moto G4 Plus is expected to house a 16MP primary camera, while the standard G4 might come with a 13MP camera. The Moto G4 Plus has been tipped to be priced at €280 (approx. Rs. 21,100), while the standard G4 may be priced at €240 (approx. Rs. 18,100). Leaked images of the G4 Plus suggest that the phone may come with a home button that doubles up as a fingerprint sensor.
During the launch of the ZUK Z2 Pro, Lenovo CEO Yang Yuanqing stated that Motorola will be unveiling a new, “exciting” device on June 9. If Moto launches the G4 and G4 Plus on May 17, the company may unveil its new flagship phone on June 9. The new flagship smartphone by Moto is expected to be called the Moto X3 or Moto X (2016). The new Moto X is tipped be powered by a Snapdragon 820 SoC with 4GB of RAM. A listing on Zauba suggests that the device may come with a 5-inch display, bucking the trend of larger display on pocket devices.
