Motorola launched the Edge 50 Ultra Fusion last month in India. This is a mid-range smartphone that has been launched under ₹25,000. The brand has now confirmed the launch of another Edge 50 smartphone in India, which is even more exciting. This is the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra that launched globally in April this year. It is launching in India on June 18, confirmed by Motorola through a post on X (formerly Twitter). Along with that, the post also revealed that the smartphone is launching with a Wood-textured panel.
The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra is the top-end smartphone of the Edge 50 series. As I mentioned above it is already available in the global markets, so we have the specifications. It features a 6.7-inch pOLED display that supports HDR10+, 10-bit colour, and up to 144Hz refresh rate. Motorola claims this display has 2500nits of peak brightness. You also get the Corning Gorilla Glass Victus for the display.
Moreover, the global variant is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor, paired with up to 1TB storage and 16GB RAM. It runs on Hello UI, which looks almost similar to Google’s Android 14. Coming to its battery, the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra is packed with a 4500mAh battery. It supports up to 125-watt wired fast charging, 50-watt wireless fast charging, and 10-watt reverse wireless as well.
For photography, it has a triple camera setup on the back. This includes a 50-megapixel main camera with multi-directional PDAF, Laser AF, and OIS support, a 64-megapixel Periscope Telephoto sensor with up to 3x optical zoom, and a 50-megapixel Ultrawide lens with 122 degrees of field-of-view. For selfies and video calls, it sports another 50-megapixel sensor.

Now, this is a bummer as Motorola launched this smartphone in Europe at a price of EUR 999. When converted to INR, the price would be around ₹80,000-90,000. At this price range, other brands offer proper flagship smartphones with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. If Motorola launches this smartphone at a similar price in India, it would be overpriced. However, there is no confirmation on the pricing yet, so stay tuned.
