Motorola has teamed up with legendary graffiti artist Leonard Hilton McGurr aka Futura to custom paint Moto X Pure smartphones. Futura, an illustrator and graphic designer, has previously known to have teamed up with Nike, The Clash, Levi’s and 2000s trip-hop group, UNKLE.
In this new video published on Tuesday by ‘MOTO Reissued’ on YouTube, we see Futura talk about his career and style. He is fondly called the ‘Grandfather of Graffiti’, but modestly claims that he is ‘still a work in progress’. “It’s getting harder and harder to maintain your individualism”, he says in the video as he tags some 30 Moto Pure X phones, and it looks stunning.
These limited edition phones are selling for about $350 each, and the total number of phones Moto has released is unclear at the moment. At present, they are also available via underground retailer Stefan’s Head.
