Lenovo is all set to launch its flagship lineup, Moto Z in India today. The Z lineup was unveiled earlier this year and took the company's flagship mantle from the X series. The company is also expected to launch the cheapest smartphone in the family, the Moto Z Play in India as well.
The Moto Z features a 5.5-inch QHD AMOLED display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC with 4GB of RAM. At the back is a 13MP primary camera with laser-assisted autofocus, OIS, and a f/1.8 aperture lens. It also features a 2600mAH battery and runs Android Marshmallow. The company also unveiled the Moto Z Force, that features a Shattershield display, 21MP rear camera and a bigger battery. However, it is not yet known if the company will launch this version of the phone in India.
Moto also unveiled a cheaper version of the smartphone called the Moto Z Play. The phone comes with a 5.5-inch display, but with Full HD resolution. It is powered by a 2.0GHz Snapdragon 625 SoC with 3GB of RAM. The phone also houses 16MP and 5MP cameras, and a 3510mAh battery. All smartphone run on Android Marshmallow, and Moto has already confirmed that the devices will be updated to Android Nougat.
The highlight of the phone is its modular attachments. However, unlike the LG G5, which required users to remove the bottom of the phone to attach the mods, Moto’s modular attachments (called Moto Mods), can be snapped on without turning off the device. The company initially unveiled three Moto Mods, one was the JBL Soundboost Speaker, Moto Insta-Share projector, and the Incipio OffGrid Power Pack. The speaker mod enhances audio capabilities, the projector adds a pico projector to the phone, while the power pack increases the phone’s battery capacity. The company also unveiled another Moto Mod at IFA 2016 called the Hasselblad True Zoom. This mod uses its own camera sensor instead of the phone’s camera and adds 10x optical zoom to the phone along with a xenon flash.
