Moto Z Play with 5.5-inch FHD display, Snapdragon 625, 3GB RAM spotted on GFXBench
The Moto Z Play is expected to be unveiled at IFA 2016 and specifications suggest that the phone might be the cheaper device in the line up
IFA 2016 is set to start in a few days and Motorola is expected to announce a new addition to the Moto Z family. Tipped to be called the Moto Z Play, the phone is believed to be the cheaper device in the lineup and it's recent listing on GFXBench seems to suggest the same. The Moto Z Play is listed as being powered by an octa-core SoC with Adreno 506 graphics, which points towards the Snapdragon 625. The standard Moto Z and Moto Z Force are powered by the Snapdragon 820.
The listing also suggests that the phone will sport a 5.5-inch Full HD display. It may also feature 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The upcoming phone may also sport 16MP and 5MP cameras, and run Android Marshmallow v6.0.1.
A few days ago, images allegedly of the Moto Z Play were posted online. Judging by the images, the phone will have a design similar to the other Moto Z smartphones, including the protruding rear camera module and the magnetic connectors for the Moto Mods. However, the Moto Z Play is expected to feature a glass rear panel instead of the metal back used on the other two Moto Z phones.
