The smartphone powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset runs Android 7.1.1

Motorola might be preparing to launch a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 powered Moto Z sometime soon. A mystery Motorola device has appeared on Geekbench with the product listing 'Motorola XT1650'. The listing reveals the smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM. The product listing also confirms the smartphone comes with Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box. There is nothing much about this particular device at this moment but the model number hints at Moto Z (2017).

Motorola announced Moto Z in June 2016 as it embarked on the idea of modular smartphones. The device features a 5.5-inch Quad HD display, 5.2mm thin metal and glass design, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and 4GB RAM. The Moto Z 2016 also came with model number XT1650 and the smartphone listed on Geekbench could be the 2017 iteration.

Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 is the latest flagship processor from the smartphone chipmaker. Xiaomi, Nokia, LG and other smartphone makers are expected to showcase their flagship devices powered by Snapdragon 835 at MWC next month. Motorola could announce its own Snapdragon 835 device along with G5 Plus at the event.
