Motorola is planning to launch the Moto X Play on Flipkart for around Rs. 25,000, while the Moto X Style will be launched in India soon, reports RTN Asia. However, there is no confirmation of the date of launch. However, it is possible that both the devices will be launched together.
It was earlier reported that Motorola had planned to launch the Moto X Play and the Moto X Style in India in September. But, no confirmation had been made regarding its pricing. By pricing the Moto X Play in the Rs. 25,000 price bracket, Motorola will face direct competition from the OnePlus 2 and the Meizu MX5.
The Moto X Play comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD display along with a 1.7GHz Snapdragon 615 SoC, 2GB of RAM, 21MP/5MP cameras, and a 3630mAh battery. The Moto X Style has a 5.7-inch QHD display, 1.8GHz Snapdragon 808 SoC, 3GB of RAM, 21MP/5MP cameras, and a 3000mAh battery. The Indian version of the Play will have 32GB of internal memory, and it is not known if Motorola will launch the 16GB version.
In August, Motorola also said that it was planning to break away from its online-only model, and would be selling phones through physical retail stores. It plans to use parent company Lenovo’s offline retail strength as leverage. Motorola isn’t the only one planning to move away from the online only model. Xiaomi had also announced that it is going to partner Redington to offer its phones in retail stores across the country.
