Motorola has launched the Moto X Play smartphone in India with prices starting at Rs. 18,499 for the 16GB variant. The phone will be exclusive to Flipkart and will be available from midnight today. The 32GB variant of the Moto X Play will be available for Rs. 19,999.
The Moto X Play comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD display and runs on Android Lollipop 5.1.1. It is powered by a 1.7GHz octa-core Snapdragon 615 SoC with 2GB of RAM and has a 3,630mAh battery. At the back is 21MP primary camera with a 5MP camera for the front. Motorola claims that users will be able to get 30 hours of use between charges.
Motorola has not announced the Moto X Style in India and as of now and it is not known if they will do so in the future. The Style comes with a 5.7-inch QHD display and is powered by a 1.8GHz hexa-core Snapdragon 808 SoC and has 3GB of RAM. Like the Play, the Moto X Style comes with Android Lollipop 5.1.1. Unlike the Moto X Play, which has two variants. The Moto X Style comes in three variants: 16GB, 32GB and 64GB.
Motorola had started teasing the launch of the Moto X Play since last week. The first teaser mentioned its 21MP camera saying, “Tired of those hazy memories? Get hitched with a perfect partner with a 21MP camera.” The second teaser was about its battery backup and said, “No more getting dumped by your phone. Your perfect partner is coming with 30 hours of battery backup.”
