Moto X (2017) has been part of various leaks in the past and now exclusive renders of the device have leaked in full glory. The Moto X (2017) is expected to be non modular version of existing Moto Z range.
Motorola could introduce Moto X (2017) as a smartphone cheaper than Moto Z and device to take on OnePlus 3 or OnePlus 3T. The company had introduced Moto X Style in 2015, which was aimed to compete against OnePlus 2. The leaked renders of Moto X (2017) hint at the adoption of a 3.5mm headphone jack and microUSB port, which were ditched with the launch of Moto Z.
The front of the device seems to house a 5.2-inch display and a newly designed home button, which is not square anymore. The fingerprint sensor seems more curved at the edges, which is reminiscent of designs seen on the flagship Galaxy S lineup. Moto X (2017) also features a large camera bump on the rear, identical to the Moto Z. According to Android Authority, Moto X (2017) will be 8.4mm thick compared to 5.2mm thin profile of Moto Z. The Moto X (2017) also won't be coming with any fancy sound system, but there is a high probability of support for Dolby Atmos. In addition, the Moto X (2017) leaked renders hint at Lenovo going back to basics and bringing out a smartphone that delivers basic form factor over modularity. The smartphone could be showcased at CES 2017 but is more likely to launch at MWC 2017.
