Moto X (2016) with dual-rear cameras spotted on GFXBench
The Moto X lineup may not be entirely over.
A Motorola device, with technical name XT1650, has been spotted on GFXBench. It is expected to be the Moto X (2016) smartphone, and reportedly sports a 5.5-inch QHD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC and 4GB of RAM. The leaked screenshot suggests 32GB of internal storage and Android Marshmallow v6.0.1. However, the most interesting feature revealed by the listing is the dual-rear cameras with 12MP and 20MP units. At the front is a 5MP camera. The Motorola XT1650 was spotted on Geekbench back in April, with similar specifications.
It should also be noted that the specifications of the XT1650 are pretty similar to the new Moto Z series of smartphones. It is possible that the new Moto X series will offer similar specifications as the Moto Z, except for the Moto Mods. While the Z series is now the company's flagship, the X series has not been discontinued. In a statement to Android Police, the company said that the Moto X series was “alive and well,” and the X and Z series would offer different experiences to users.
